The series, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as Rustin Cohle (McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Harrelson) and Rustin Cohle (McConaughey), lead investigators in a macabre 1995 Louisiana murder and relive the case and their partnership in the wake of new info.
Errant sleuths who missed out the first time round can track down every episode on Amazon Instant Video. You can buy single episodes in SD for £1.89 or in HD for £2.49 a pop. The whole season can be bought for £14.99 in SD or £18.99 in HD.
The series ended recently with speculation over a second season which may or may not star Brad Pitt. Series writer Nic Pizzolatto has also hinted that the show will also explore the secret occult history of America’s transit systems and that the show could consist of standalone one-shots instead of a single acing storyline. One thing we know for sure is that neither leads from the first season will be returning.
HBO has yet to officially announce a new series, but rumours suggest that it will air in January next year.
