What is Amazon Prime Day 2017? All you need to know

Amazon’s third annual Prime Day will be held in July 2017, with a chance to bag yourself a discounted membership to Amazon Prime, as well as big discounts on thousands of products. Here’s all you need to know about Amazon Prime Day 2017.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is a day-long deals bonanza, where hundreds of thousands of products are offered at a discount through Amazon’s global websites. Not all of these deals are available immediately, however; instead, fresh deals are offered every five minutes, ensuring that bargain hunters will get absolutely no sleep whatsoever.

Of course, to enjoy the Prime Day deals you have to be a member of Amazon Prime, which we recommend anyway – read on for more info on signing up for Prime and the special discount that Amazon is offering for a limited time.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2017?

The first Amazon Prime Day took place in 2015 and was repeated in 2016. In both cases this took place in July and 2017 is no different – although the length has actually been extended this year.

Amazon Prime Day 2017 runs for a full 30 hours rather than just 24, so it’s no longer technically a ‘day’. Here in the UK, Prime Day begins at 6pm on Monday July 10 and runs through to the end of Tuesday July 11, giving you plenty of time to empty your bank account.

In fact, the deals actually kick off ahead of July 10…

What are the best Amazon Prime Day 2017 deals?

To further confuse matters, Amazon is offering exclusive deals to Prime subscribers ahead of Prime Day 2017. Some of these deals include:

  • Amazon Music Unlimited – Prime members who haven’t tried Amazon Music Unlimited can jump on board for four full months for just 99 pence. That’s a quid for on-demand access to over 40 million songs, with a service that rivals Spotify and Apple Music. • Kindle Unlimited – Right now you can save up to 40 percent on a Kindle Unlimited membership. This allows you to kick back with a selection of over a million eBooks, which can be read at your leisure. It’s a much better selection than the Amazon Prime Reading catalogue, although you’ll still find some gems on the bundled Prime ebooks selection.
  • Everyday Essentials – Prime members can save up to 25 percent off some food and household items in Prime Pantry, from July 3 onwards.

In addition, between July 7 and 11 you get the chance to win £100,000 simply by streaming Amazon Video shows or movies on your TV via Amazon’s own Fire TV, Fire TV Stick or the Amazon Video app.

When Prime Day kicks off for real, expect fresh deals to appear every five minutes. You’ll have to be quick to snap up a bargain!

How can I find the Prime Day deals that matter most to me?
