YouView has updated its iPhone and iPad app in time for the launch of iOS 7 and the new iPhone 5S and 5C.
The new app comes with a much-needed search function which lets you find your favourite programmes and set recordings on the go with greater ease.
You can search for shows in the TV Guide and Now & Next menus and the app will save your most recent search terms to make finding your favourites even easier. On selected Apple devices you’ll also be able to search with your voice by tapping the microphone icon that appears on the bottom left.
Read our guide to YouViewThe updated YouView app will let you search for both channels and TV shows, so you can say ‘Channel 4’ or ‘Come Dine With Me’ and the app will do the rest.
Links to other programmes in a series and HD versions of shows will be presented where available. As well as this, the overall look of the app has been refreshed so it’s similar in style and design to how the YouView programme guide on your TV screen looks.
The free app is available to download now on iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, iPod touch (3rd-5th generation) and all models of iPad running iOS 5.0 or above.
The YouView Android app will get an update bringing the same features soon, but there’s no date for this just yet.
