Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Mini and Padfone coming to CES?

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is something we’ve been salivating over for a long time; it’s packing Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core chip, a full Qwerty keyboard dock and it’s very slick looking to boot.

We still think that there’s room for something a little more portable in our lives, something a bit more circa 7-inches.

So as well as hearing rumours of Acer tablets and LG/Intel phones hitting the stands next week, we’ve been hearing that Asus will be unveiling a smaller 7-inch tablet.

According to Notebookitalia, we’ll be seeing not only a 7-inch Eee Pad Transformer Prime Mini but the smaller Eee Pad MeMo rubbing shoulders with the elusive Asus Padfone.

The Transformer Prime Mini will feature a smaller screen but will also come with a Qwerty keyboard dock of its own. There’s no word from the Italian site’s source on the internals; we’d very much hope for it to be quad-core equipped like its 10.1-inch sibling.

The Asus Eee Pad MeMo looks to be a standard 7-inch tablet with no additional connections or keyboard docks; rumoured specs include a display resolution of 1280 x 800, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon chip and 16-64GB of storage.

The Asus Padfone is a hybrid device; a smaller Android phone that slips into a larger tablet-sized dock. More on all of these devices as and when we hear about them. We’re heading out to CES next week, so we’ll know for sure exactly what will be keeping the Asus tablecloths warm.
