Google Nexus Prime coming ‘very shortly’ according to Samsung UK

Samsung and Google were thought to be taking the wraps off of the Nexus Prime tonight at San Diego. The event has been cancelled, allegedly out of respect for the recently departed Steve Jobs.

We were resigned to having to wait a little bit longer before getting the first official look at the Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich. But according to Samsung UK’s Sales Director Andrew Glass, the Nexus Prime will be unveiled “sooner than you think.”

Speaking to T3 at the publication’s recent awards ceremony, Glass said “You will have an announcement of the Nexus Prime very shortly and will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think.”

Tantalising doesn’t even cut it! We spoke to Samsung UK who had “nothing more to add at this stage,” about the Nexus Prime.

Though Vodafone has remain tight lipped on whether or not it’ll be selling the Nexus Prime, we’ve a feeling that it might, given its historical record of eagerly snapping up Nexus phones.

Carphone Warehouse too also went out of its way to snap up the Google Nexus S when it arrived in the UK on a limited exclusivity deal, so we’d be surprised if they didn’t at least try the second time round.

In the meantime, good places to keep eyes on would be Samsung UK’s Facebook page.

Google’s own Nexus page, which is currently still showing a splash page for the Nexus S 4G on Sprint.
