HTC’s latest One (M9), will be available on a range of price plans from EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Release dates and prices are to be confirmed, but a phone of this calibre will surely cost a pretty penny.
Doing away with the dual-camera set up of last year’s One (M8), the HTC One (M9) rocks with a more conventional shooter, albeit one with a whopping 20-megapixel sensor.
This is capable of recording 4K Ultra HD video. While you perhaps won’t be able to appreciate how good that is on the One (M9)’s 5.0-inch, Full HD 1080p display, the phone does feature MHL 3.0 technology. This means you’ll be able to plug your HTC One (M9) into a 4K telly and stream 2160p video at up to 30 frames per second.
As you’ll be able to appreciate in our hands-on video below the HTC One (M9) is a thing of beauty, hewn almost entirely from various metals. Those signature micro-drilled holes return as does HTC’s trademark BoomSound audio tech.
It’ll be available in three different mixes of metal shades – ‘gold on gold’, ‘gold on silver’, ‘gunmetal on grey’, but sadly for fans of weak and timid yawn-ography, there’s no ‘Grey on Steele’ edition. Yet.
While we can’t tell you anything about prices now, EE has told us that it will be selling the gold on gold variant exclusively for three months. As it’s a Cat 6 LTE phone, the HTC One (M9) will, like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, let owners cruise on EE’s 4G+ network.
In real terms, this means if you’ve got an HTC One (M9) and you’re an EE customer you can expect to browse the web at some not too shabby speeds. While very London-centric for now, EE has recently announced plans to greatly broaden coverage of 4G+ over the next few years. EE says you’ll be able to pre-order from March 9 onwards.

Update 1: O2 has now also confirmed that it’ll be selling the One (M9) in gold on silver and gunmetal on grey on the O2 Refresh tariffs. O2 will offer up to £171 for an HTC One (M8) in-store or online.
Update 2: Virtual network operator giffgaff has announced that it will be selling the HTC One (M9) unlocked ands contract-free. Prices are still TBC and there’s no word of a release date either.
