HTC rumoured to be making official ‘Facebook phone’,

According to the City AM newspaper, HTC will be revealing two Facebook phones at next month’s Mobile World Congress.

The City AM exclusive said that the smartphone would be the first to have “visible Facebook branding” and a matching colour scheme.

The article gets a bit hazy later, saying that the phone “will draw comparisons to Google’s Nexus range, also manufactured by HTC.” Range? Well, one was HTC, but Google’s Nexus S is a Samsung creation. HTC was also called a “Korean manufacturer” but its HQ is in Taiwan. We smell rumour, and this would be yet another Facebook-focused phone, following INQ’s leaked handset.

We got in contact with HTC who said they didn’t comment on rumour or speculation, and told us to wait for next month, where Mobile World Congress will show us a whole raft of new phones to drool over.

Here’s what our Photoshop monkeys think it could look like; we’ve borrowed one of HTC’s allegedly forthcoming models for our mock-up. A blueish HTC? We’re not too sure about that.
