iTether for iOS arrives in App Store: £10.49, cocks a snook at your iPhone’s tethering plans

USB tethering on your iPhone, though a feature that’s been possible since iOS 3.0 landed, hasn’t been as straightforwards as its been on Android phones since it arrived with 2.2 Froyo.

iTether is available to download from the App Store right now, costs £10.49, and enables USB tethering from your iPhone, once you’ve installed a companion desktop app on your PC or Mac. Once all that’s done you ought to start seeing delicious data flowing on the iTether app screen.

Over a tenner might seem a bit steep, but for hopping on to the web in a pinch when you really really need to file some copy into your blog’s publishing console and there’s no decent Wi-Fi at the press event… then this could be the lifeline you need.

It’s also potentially a money-saver where current iPhone tethering plans are concerned. Of course if you’ve got an iPhone on Vodafone or Three, then all of your tethering needs should be taken care of anyway…

As well as rocking up in the App Store, iTether is available for BlackBerry and (bizarrely) Android devices as well.
