Bag yourself a cheapy Nexus 6 or Moto X in Motorola’s summer sale

Motorola’s summer sale has kicked off today, giving some substantial savings on both the Moto X and Nexus 6 handsets.

Motorola’s summer sale has just begun and will run all the way until the end of the month, closing at a minute before midnight on June 30th. During the sale, you can bag the company’s flagship device, the Moto X, at almost half the usual cost.

The 16GB Moto X model has dropped from £395 to £229 and the 32GB Moto X is now just £269. That’s a good price for a solid and user-friendly handset, whose only weak spot is its less-than-marvellous camera.

Meanwhile the Google-branded Nexus 6 has had its price tag cut to £399 for the 32GB version, a respectable discount of £80, while the 64GB device will cost £469. Sadly that still seems a bit much for an oversized phone that doesn’t really do much with the extra screen space.

Motorola is obviously sat on a fair bit of stock, as its recent spring sale also offered up some pretty sizable discounts on hardware such as the Moto 360 and Moto X, which are going to rapidly lose their lustre once the new versions of both devices drop in a few weeks’ time. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if the new Moto X is launched at the beginning of July, once this sale shifts the bulk of remaining 2014 devices.

Motorola’s deal on the Moto X allows users to customise their device via the company’s Moto Maker service and delivery is free when you spend over £75 too – so the price you see advertised is the price you’ll pay.

So, if you’re in the market for a new smartphone head over to Motorola’s site now and have a gander at what’s on offer.
