Rumour: HTC Evo 3D to come to UK? Vodafone to release in July 2011

Phones Limited have said that Vodafone have ‘confirmed’ a release date for the HTC Evo 3D.

If the phone does come to the UK, it will go up against LG’s Optimus 3D, set for release next month. The rumours suggest the phone will be renamed to the HTC Evo.

We’ve been in contact with Vodafone who told Recombu that they didn’t comment on rumour and speculation regarding their product launches.

But this isn’t the first news of HTC bringing their first 3D phone across from the USA, where it’s already been officially announced.

Earlier this year, HTC France excitedly tweeted that they too would be selling the Evo 3D in the future. At that time, we checked with HTC UK, who said, “HTC is excited by a series of new products that are coming to Europe this year.”

“Whilst we have nothing to announce today, stay tuned for some surprises in the future.”

That was before the HTC Sensation, but other rumours have persisted, with yet more smartphones from the Taiwanese phone giant expected later this year. How about a high-end NFC-capable smartphone?

Here’s the teaser vid for the HTC Evo 3D, housing a huge 4.3-inch qHD screen, with a Retina Display-approaching resolution of 960×540.

Inside, there will be a powerful 1.2GHz dual-core processor, matching the HTC Sensation, but also packing a dual-lens cameras capable of full HD 2D video, and 720p 3D video capture.
