Samsung Galaxy S2 HD: UK bound?

Information has appeared on a UK retailer about a new Android smartphone from Samsung – the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD.

An advert for the phone appeared on the homepage of Mobicity (right), showing the phone appears to be an upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S2, with a high definition screen. Since then we’ve checked the site and the advert appears to have disappeared and there’s no further information.

However, specifications on the phone are still available on the Australian version of the website (below).

Specifications include a larger 4.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1280×720 pixel resolution (matching the Samsung Galaxy Nexus).

Running Android 2.3 (or above) it looks similar to the Galaxy S2, with the trio of back, menu and home buttons along the bottom, it also has 16GB internal memory, expandable using a microSD. Like the Galaxy S2, there’s any 8-megapixel camera.

There are some differences, namely the inclusion of an NFC chip and a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, instead of Samsung’s own chip and 1GB RAM.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything about the Galaxy Nexus HD, we’ve contacted Samsung UK to find out more information and we’ll bring you more news as soon as we get it.
