Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update available on O2

UPDATED with video: The wait is finally over for Samsung Galaxy S2 owners on the 02 network. Samsung’s award winning smartphone can now be updated from Android Gingerbread to Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich.

“Never too early for an Ice Cream Sandwich – O2 customers with Samsung Galaxy S2s can now get Android 4.0 through KIES. Enjoy!” said the excited announcement on 02’s UK Facebook page.

As stated, the update is now available to download via Samsung KIES, using a computer, but it is not yet available over the air.

Three was the first UK network to roll out the ICS update for the Galaxy S2, just a day after Samsung made it available on 19 March. Orange and Vodafone also sell the phone, but have yet to confirm when the Android 4.0 update will be rolling out.
