Samsung Galaxy S3 appears on pre-order

A pre-order page for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has appeared over on Mobile City Online ahead of any official announcement from the Big S in Seoul.

Listed specs for the Samsung Galaxy S3 include a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a 1280×720 (720p) resolution, stated PPI count of 319 and a Sony Xperia S-pipping 12-megapixel camera.

The camera is said to record 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second, features touch to focus and a single LED flash. There also looks to be a secondary 2-megapixel front camera on the Samsung Galaxy S3, 16GB of storage (with capacity to boost this by 32GB via microSD) with everything powered by a 1.8GHz Samsung Exynos 4212 quad-core processor. Sounds terrifyingly good – let’s hope this is genuine.

We’ve asked Samsung for some comment or clarification on this. Exciting as the specs sound we’re a little skeptical – there’s even a pretty dubious entry labelled ‘Announced – Not officially announced yet’ on the spec sheet.

The price is listed at $799.99 (roughly £510) which doesn;t seem too far from the original RRP of the Samsung Galaxy S2. Again, pinch of salt.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 was thought to be announced this month until Samsung officially poured cold water on that idea. It’s expected that an NFC-enabled phone that’s due to be shown off at the 2012 London Olympic Games (of which Samsung is a sponsor) will be the Samsung Galaxy S3.

We’re waiting to hear back from Samsung on this one and will update when we hear more. Until then, have a gander at the spec list and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.
