Samsung Galaxy S4 mini inadvertently confirmed through Samsung Apps website

Need even more evidence that the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is coming? The handset popped up on the Samsung Apps website over the weekend, all but confirming that the phone will soon be with us. The name, model number, and design of the handset were all detailed in the listing, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement before we see the specs of the device.

Rumours have suggested that the Galaxy S4 mini has a 4.3-inch 960×540 display, a 1.6Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. SamMobile believes, however, that the LTE edition of the handset will feature 2GB of RAM. Android Beat also made an interesting observation: the US edition of the phone may include a higher resolution 720p display.

The unlocked 3G model most likely includes a lower resolution display in order to keep the cost down, an important factor if Samsung hopes to shift significant amounts of the handset in places like Europe. The US, meanwhile, predominantly favours subsidized handsets, so the extra specs might entice more people to lock themselves into a lengthy two year contract.

Whatever the case, we’ll find out more at Samsung’s upcoming June 20th event. The company will be announcing new Galaxy and Ativ devices, so we might just see the Galaxy S4 mini along with other rumoured devices such as the Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom.
