Samsung updates SamsungApps.com for OTA Android and Bada app downloads

Samsung has updated Samsungapps.com, a website, for downloading Samsung Apps directly to Android and Bada mobile phones over the air.

This means owners of Samsung mobile phones can now check out apps on a personal computer, buy them and they will be transferred directly to a handset. Currently OTA downloads will be available for Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Ace, along with bada 2.0 handsets like the Wave 2.

To try this out we launched Samsung Apps on our Galaxy S2 and we were prompted to update the application and to visit SamsungApps.com.

Once there, log is as normal. Select the app you want to try or buy (making sure it’s first compatible with your device), click ‘Get’ and it will automatically transfer to your mobile,  appearing in the Download section of the Samsung Apps application.

By offering PC over-the-air as well as directly to mobile downloads, Samsung going head-to-head with Google and the Android market, where of course you can download directly to your handset or via a computer.

It’s also a quick way of downloading apps to multiple Samsung phones.

The update is available now in the UK, France, South Korea, Germany and Italy with other countries to follow soon.
