Sony Xperia range to get new cases and accessories

Sony Mobile is to offer a new range of accessories for its Xperia smartphone range from mid-May in a bid to brighten up your handset. The company does not manufacture accessories in-house, but it has announced a number of new partnerships with those that can.

Via the Sony Xperia Product Blog, Sony listed the new partnerships that so far include: Casemate, AGF, Incipio, Krusell, Dicota, Copter, Muvit, Roxfit, Orbyx and Shinnorie. Sony commented on the blog: “Our friends will announce exciting and stylish products for Xperia smartphones from mid-May”.

Getting a case that properly fits and protects your smartphone can be a tricky business, not least of all if you have one outside of the top-sellers like iPhone. These partnerships are great news for Xperia owners and we hope that Sony will work closely with the manufactures to ensure a quality end product.

This comes as more good news for the Xperia range as just yesterday it was confirmed that the Sony Xperia S will soon be getting its much anticipated Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich update.

The new accessories will include cases and shells and there is no news on design or prices. As soon as we have more information on the new accessories we will let you know.
