It’s only just been announced, but UK networks Orange, T-Mobile and Three and have confirmed they will be selling the Sony Xperia U.
Running Android, the Sony Xperia U joins the Sony Xperia S and freshly announced Sony Xperia P in the Sony line-up. It’s the smallest phone of the trio, with a dual-core 1Ghz processor and 3.5-inch FWVGA 854×480 Reality Display and mobile Bravia Engine.
On-board there’s a 5-megapixel camera that captures 720p HD movies, while the Exmoor R sensor helps improve low-light performance.
Orange has confirmed it will be exclusively stocking the white version.
We already knew the Sony Xperia U will be coming to Three after the network revealed a teaser video earlier, which you should check out if you’re interested in the phone.
The Sony Xperia U follows a similar design to the Sony Xperia S, but what might make the handset appeal to the more fashion-conscious phone user is the interchangeable base, which comes in black and pink. There’s also a thin bar that illuminates to match the colours displayed on the screen.
The Sony Xperia U will be available on Orange and T-Mobile in Q2, Three has yet to confirm availability, but there’s no information on pricing from any network.. We update you with more information and a hands-on video with the when we get it.
