Not content to let the iPad 2 hog the tablet limelight, the Wi-Fi-only Motorola Xoom goes and appears on Dixons, Currys and PC World for £499.
The 32GB Android 3.0 Honeycomb running tablet is available to pre-order now, with the first deliveries due to arrive on the 9th of April.
The Dixons and PC World pre-order pages promise that “if you order from us today you’ll be the first in Europe to receive one.”
The product details pages reveal more details about the Xoom’s UK release date. “The Motorola Xoom WiFi is due for release in the first week of April 2011,” it says. “We are the only retailer offering the Motorola Xoom WiFi from day one.”
So we can assume that the 9th of April is a likely canditate for a release date, for the Wi-Fi -only Xoom at least. We’ve asked Motorola for a comment on this and are waiting to hear back.
There’s no additional delivery charge from Dixons, Currys or PC World. So if you fancy unwrapping a Wi-Fi only Motorola Xoom in a month’s time and you have £500 odd to spare, you place your orders here, here and here.
While its good to get official confirmation on the price and everything, we would’ve liked it if even more if the price has been more in line with the rumours…
