Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 confirmed: Android iPod Touch

Samsung has confirmed it will be introducing a second edition of it’s Apple iPod Touch rival, the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2.

The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0. It offers many of the feature of the Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S2, but without the phone functionality, which means much a cheaper price tag.

Running Android 3.2 Gingerbread, you can download apps from the Android Market, access GMail, listen to music and play movies on the 4.2-inch 480×800 touchscreen.

Samsung’s SoundAlive technology is designed to improve audio performance through the speaker or headphones.

Of course you can play games too, Fifa 2012 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit are pre-loaded, and there’s gyroscope, for controlling games by motion, although the professor is single rather than dual core,

The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 comes in 8GB and 16GB capacities and there’s a microSD slot on-board too, enabling you to expand it further.

Samsung has yet to announce a release date or price for the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2, but we’ll bring you more information when we receive it.
